Writing a letter to a new neighbor is quite easy, and it can differ a lot depending on the community you are living in.
However, this can make it even more difficult when you sit down to write one.
A welcome email letter to a new neighbor should be friendly and kind, short and offering help to adjust to a new place of living.
Such a letter can be just a short welcoming note, and also a longer letter that includes directions to shops, doctors etc.
1. This letter can be informal. This means that you can use the first name of the person, and be conversational in tone.
2. Offer help for the newcomers, they might need it!
3. Offers ways to be contacted easily.
4. To integrate the new people into the community, organize a small event where they can also come and meet everyone.
Dear John, Kate and Marie,
Let us be among the first to welcome you to our neighborhood! We hope you will be happy here and enjoy life every day, just the way we have.
This neighborhood has a lot of families with children, and we heard that you also have a little girl. Join us for our summer barbecue next weekend, on the 13th of August! We sometimes organize such gatherings where the parents can have fun and the children can play together. We are looking forward to meeting you and your family there.
Please let us know if we can help you in any way. We know that moving can be quite difficult at times. We would be more than happy to show you around and point out the best places in the neighborhood to shop from.
Give me a call if you would like some help or just chat. My number is 349 349 298. Your next door neighbors are the Wilsons, their phone number is 445 233 111. Again welcome to our neighborhood and we are very happy to have you.
Susanne and Mark
