If you are unhappy with something and you feel that it is not correct and right towards you, write a letter of complaint.
It is important that you know how to write such a formal letter to solve unpleasant situations.
Before you start, make sure you have all the relevant information regarding the issue.
Name them all and get straight to the point. Make sure that the language you use is professional and formal: don't show any anger, frustration or abusive language, simply explain what's going on without being cynical or judgmental. Don't accuse: state facts instead.
A letter of complaint can be written for example in the following situations: If you are unsatisfied with a product or a service, if you feel that you didn't get what was promised to you, if somebody is not acting politely towards you in an official place, if you have financial damage because of someone else's fault, if you are not satisfied with something such as food at a restaurant etc.
Dear Mr. Miller,
I am writing to you to point out a serious issue regarding one of your products. Last week I have purchased one of your creams that you have advertised as an anti aging cream. After the first application I got a severe rash, after which I was compelled to go to the doctor. At the doctors office it was pointed out the me that I have an allergic reaction to one of the active ingredients in the cream. This ingredient can cause severe allergic reactions and photo-sensitivity, which were not listed as possible risks in the description of the product.
I have called your customer service, but they were unable to give me a solution. I would like to ask for a refund for the price of the cream and the paying of my bill from the dermatologist.
Please let me know as soon as possible about your proposition to correct this issue. Thank you!
