We have some suggestions to help you put together a Christmas wedding of your dreams.
First check with the church or other site where you want to be married. The Christmas season is a busy time for most churches so book early.
Hotels and restaurants are also very busy so reserve your reception site well in advance of the big day.
Pick one aspect of Christmas and plan your decorations and menu around that. You are not locked into red and green for your color scheme, consider blue and silver and of course white and any of the other Christmas colors would work.
A friend’s daughter chose a “Let it Snow” theme. Her color scheme was white and icy blue. Her dress was white and the bridesmaids were blue. Snowflake designs were everywhere including the invitations, programs, dinnerware, place cards and even the cake had snowflake decorations. The favors were crystal snowflakes etched with the bride and groom’s names and the wedding date.
I know of a couple that used a gingerbread house theme. Even the cake was a fantasy gingerbread house as were the invitations. Other possible themes could be Santa, Christmas trees or the Nativity. Your options are almost endless including the Nightmare Before Christmas. Whatever Christmas theme you choose, it should carry through all aspects of your wedding from the church service to the menu and favors. I hope we have given you a few different options from which you can choose your favorite Christmas themed wedding idea.

For the holidays, the most beautiful wedding dress is one off the shoulders with a slightly full skirt with sequences to make the dress sparkle. The shoulders will be covered with a white fur shawl or wrap. If the winter is really cold, you can even have a fur jacket to top the wedding dress. Wedding colors today are not traditionally white. You could have a wedding dress that is white with a red lace strip down the back of the train. This is beautiful when laid out during the ceremony and for pictures.
Get a little adventurous for you ideas for Christmas wedding gowns and wear red, blue or green for the wedding. It is your wedding and any color can be worn and makes the wedding more colorful. You could wear white and have each attendant wear and Christmas color dress.
Imagine having three bridesmaids one in red, blue and a green dress. This could be a very colorful wedding because Christmas is always brightly colored with many different colors. The bride's dress is going to be flattering and will stand out in pictures no matter what colors you choose.
With so many ideas for Christmas wedding gowns, you will find it overwhelming, but if you know what type of theme you want or the color scheme, you can find some beautiful gowns for holiday weddings. Just remember that white is no longer the only color for your wedding day. The gowns can be mid length, knee length or even shorter than that. Any length will not look beautiful for your wedding day. Add a veil or wear baby’s breathe in your hair with some sparkles to highlight the season. Choose a gown that will look beautiful and one that you will feel comfortable in on your wedding day.
